Voicemail notice

I received a notice on my home phone that states "Voicemail msg. via phone co.".  SInce I do not have voicemail on my home phone I can't access it.  I have tried to get rid of the message as it causes problems when dialing out but putting 4 beeps before I can use the phone. How do I get rid of this message?  Any ideas??

Are you sure about that or have you simply not configured Voicemail or set a password?

As far as I know, voicemail comes standard.  Rogers may be able to disable it but this is something that you would have to ask them to do.

You probably actually do have Voicemail and never realized it.  Your best bet may be to set a voicemail password so that you can access your voice mailbox.  If you choose to use an external answering machine, you can change the number of rings-to-answer so that your answering machine picks up before the incoming call transfers to Rogers voicemail.

You may also find that you actually like Rogers' voicemail.  It's handy to be able to check messages with a web browser and download messages to your computer.

I did not set up Rogers voicemail as I have an answering machine that allows remote access.  My question is still....how do I get ride of the annoying message that is always on my phone?

"I did not set up Rogers voicemail" does not mean you do not have voicemail provisioned on the line.

please confirm if your home phone is provisioned for rogers voicemail or no,  leave the phone OFF THE HOOK, and call your house number from your cell phone, do you hear a greeting or some kind of automated message? if so then YES your line is provisioned for voicemail even if you did not set it up.  if it goes to a busy tone or says "the customer is not available" then you do not have voicemail

The ONLY WAY to remove the voicemail is by contacting customer service, this is NOT something you can do yourself, only customer service has the ability to exclude the voicemail feature on your line even if it is part of your package.
